AREA AGENCY VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Many of the Area Agency on Aging's specialized programs need volunteers on an on-going basis. All program volunteers receive appropriate training. If you have time and would like to share your talents, the Agency has many worthwhile opportunities available.
Ombudsman volunteers serve as advocates for people living in nursing homes and assisted living facilities, and assist residents to resolve problems they encounter in their daily lives.
Care Directions volunteers assist case managers in the HIV Care Directions office with duties such as follow-up telephone contact with clients and light clerical work.
The Benefits Assistance Program volunteers provide individuals with personalized, objective assistance and education with Medicare and related issues. Benefits Assistance Counselors are provided with a 5 day training program which is followed by 16 hours of on-the-job training. Various locations throughout the valley.
