The Senior LOAN-a-PHONE Program  provides a cellular phone, programmed to call 911 only, to seniors (60+) or younger physically disabled individuals to help them feel safe and secure while they are out and about during the day, or at home without any telephone service. 

The phones can be picked up at one of our distribution sites either in Phoenix, Mesa or Sun City West.  The pick-up day is Thursday from 9:30 to 11:30 AM.  Clients must call the Senior HELP LINE at 602-264-4357 and schedule an appointment.  For homebound seniors, a member of your agency can pick the phone up at our office, collect the deposit and necessary paperwork and bring the phone to the client. 

The eligibility requirements are as follows:

  • Senior must be 60 years or older or persons 18-59 years of age with a physical disability
  • Income below $1700. (single person) or $2500. (couple)
  • Client must still be able to travel by car, public transportation, or walking
  • Homebound persons may also qualify if they have no telephone service or emergency alert system
