What is Powerful Tools for Caregivers?
Powerful Tools for Caregivers is an education program designed to provide you, the family caregiver, the tools needed to take care of yourself. 

The classes allow you to address and acquire the tools to deal with:

  • Stressors
  • Depression
  • Anger
  • Guilt
  • Communicating feelings, needs and concerns

Is Powerful Tools for Caregivers Right for You?
Family caregiving knows no boundaries. Whether you provide care for someone at  home or are responsible for someone in a long-term residence, down the block or miles away, you are a caregiver.
Caregiving takes many forms:

  • Transporting your loved one to doctor’s appointments
  • Keeping your loved one’s home clean
  • Assisting your loved one with bathing, dressing or grooming
  • Helping your loved one with financial concerns or insurance matters
  • Contacting your loved one daily to discuss concerns and fears
  • Coordinating services for a loved one who lives in another state

Where can I attend a Powerful Tools for Caregivers Class?
Classes are held throughout Maricopa County and consist of  1 1/2  or 2 1/2 hour  sessions, once a week, for six weeks. 

Experienced class leaders conduct each session.  Interactive lessons, discussions, and brainstorming all have a role in  making the program work for you.   See the current class list below:
