Accolades

Note from a very happy Assistive Devices recipient:

"I am writing to tell you THANK YOU for my new hearing aids? I cannot even begin to express how thrilled I am to finally be able to hear!! I truly don’t think that there is anyone on Earth that could possibly be more thankful or more thrilled than I am! Thank God for you and for the Area Agency on Aging! You have made a wonderful difference in my life!!"

Good instincts, great work on the part of staff:

Ann Marie Grande, on staff at the Area Agency, received a letter from a lady in the mail. Just a few words were scribbled on the page, such as "no phone" and "need insulin". Ann Marie became concerned and contacted the police to do a welfare check. She learned later that, when the police found the woman, she was in need of medical attention. They called an ambulance and she was transported to the hospital.

Note to Mary Lynn from the Director of Home Instead Senior Care:

"Congratulations on receiving seven awards at the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging Annual Conference! Good for you and all the folks at AAA Phoenix. You have all done a tremendous job. This couldn’t have happened without your leadership. With great respect, Debbie Seplow"

Note from a grandparent raising grandchildren:

"On behalf of all the grandparents and grandchildren that you so graciously invited to the Science Museum, I would like to thank you. The day was filled with anticipation and excitement from both grandparents and grandchildren. We thoroughly enjoyed all the exhibitions and hands-on activities. It was a learning experience for all. Then the ending lunch was welcomed by all. Thank you for your generosity and thoughtfulness."

Letter from a Benefits Assistance client:

"I would like to express my thanks to your agency and specifically to Carmen Segoviano. My father recently moved here from Redmond, Oregon. He and I independently called your Senior Hotline for information about transferring his health and drug insurance to this state. We were very lucky to have Carmen answer both calls. She immediately realized we were related and coordinated all efforts for us. She sent us the appropriate materials right away, explained what we needed to do, and followed up a few days later to make sure we had taken care of Dad’s needs. Carmen was able to turn a very confusing time for my father into a pleasant welcome to the Phoenix area. Enclosed please find a donation to support the great work your office is doing. Thanks again to you and Carmen."
