Are you confused by the changes in your HMO? Do you need assistance interpreting your Medicare supplemental claims forms? Rest easy, you're not alone.

The Area Agency's Benefits Assistance Program (BAP) has staff and volunteer counselors placed throughout the Valley who can provide individual assistance on these sometimes confusing policies and forms. Trained volunteers provide free personalized assistance with the preparation of Medicare and supplemental claims forms, appeals, applying for Medicare, Social Security, and more.

Services include:
•  Helping to organize Medicare and supplemental claims.
•  Explaining and comparing Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) and Medicare    supplemental policies (MEDIGAP).
•  Reviewing eligibility for low income related programs.
•  Providing information about long term care policies.

The average client receives 30 minutes of free assistance, but problems or appeals can be complex, involving many  hours and coordination between multiple agencies.

Benefits Assistance Program volunteers receive comprehensive training. Information on the Benefits Assistance Program and volunteer opportunities can be obtained by calling the the Area Agency's 24-hour Senior HELP LINE at (602) 264-HELP.  For a list of locations please click the attachment below:
